Yeah, I'm always on vent while I'm gaming.

I will look for you on steam tonight. Are you also on vent?

I'm online just about every night with my buddies. We tend to start between 8-10pm Pacific and go until 11-12pm. That may be a bit late for you, but let me know your schedule.

So when we going to get online and game? I have almost finished the single player.

And with StarCraft, its the multiplayer where it really shines.

I'm pretty interested, but I think I've got plans all weekend.

I picked it up yesterday and it is like some of my other games. I play DoW and Homeworld2. It's not bad I do like a story line game.

Anyone dying to test SW:ToR?

I got an invitation to test this weekend, but I'm going to be at the beach so I won't be able to participate.

SC isn't really my cup of tea. I'll pick it up eventually as it's bound to be a classic, but only after it drops down to a normal price.

I think I will pick up the original one also and start it.

It's good stuff. I loved the original and have been playing the new one a bit.

I was thinking about it. Although I have never played the first StarCraft.

Anyone planning to pick up StarCraft II? It plays similar, though more difficult, than the first.

I'm going to a chiropractor now and things seem to be slowly getting better. I should be on a little bit tonight and probably over the weekend.

Well take it easy and get better. Hope things get better soon.

I probably wont be on much the next few days. I threw my back out on 4/26 and it's still all jacked up. Sitting in a chair is kinda painful at the moment...

Submitted draft one of my MS thesis today! Feels pretty good to have that monkey off my back.

No problem we will see you when you can get on. Better to make sure your work is done before gaming.

Just thought I'd let you all know I probably won't be on much the next 2-3 weeks. I'm in the process of finishing my thesis and have had to crunch a bunch of simulations on my desktop since they are too slow on my laptop and won't run properly on my lab's computers.

My laptop also isn't the greatest gaming machine... I may have an hour or two free at night, between simulations that I can use to game, but we'll see.

Okay, I've got my Inet woes resolved... I was having extreme packet loss. I rewired my local network and moved the router away from the phone(!) and now I'm scoring "A" at PingTest.net and 50% above average at SpeedTest.net. Woo-Hoo! I've been getting totally pwned in game because of all the warping... my stats are crap.

You should have jumped on vent so we could chat while playing. Would have been like old times.

I joined the 21CW tourney since they've moved to BC2. I'll be playing with them on the weekends.

I played my first rounds of MP today and it was very fun! I don't care for HC mode since I don't know the maps, but the Normal config seems pretty well balanced.

Hi guys, pop'd onto your server a while back and enjoyed playing. I was wondering, we're new to FFOW (been playing a lot of CoD4 and BF2142) and we recently bought a server box for our own personal practice and so forth, and were thinking that if we could host a dedicated server for FFOW that allowed other people in that would be great. Initially I've done every thing the DedicatedServer.txt says to do, but every now and again can't see the server in the list. We're always hoping onto your server to play around.

Any thoughts on how to get this to work? Server works I'm just tired of having to say what the IP is over TeamSpeak all the time LOL.

If you're not renting the actual FFoW server or renting your entire box from MyIS, Branzone or I3D you will probably have problems.

The dedicated server files have not been released to the public yet and neither have the server admin tools. A few hosts (MyIS, Branzone and I3D) are helping to test out the server files so they're really the only hosts that I know of that have mostly functional servers. We still don't have any admin tools so we can't kick people (not like we really need to) but I guess they'll be released whenever the dedicated server files are released.

I tried to run a FFoW server in my house for a while and had the same problem you are having with getting it to show up in the server browser consistently.

So I guess the solution is to either pay $1.50/slot per month to rent an instance of FFoW or suffer until they get around to releasing the dedicated server browser files and nobody really knows when that will be for sure.

VT_NERD,

Yea I agree. It seems they've given the Dedicated files to people that have money and left us poor folks in the rain. Ahhh so is life. That's ok. I like your guys server. Just didn't want to take advantage of you guys and keep popping on and not really contribute anything. $ wise.

There are about 12 -BeerMe- members and 9 of which live in Montana (including me as I've migrated over from Seattle) and feel that gaming is a hobby, so is server building and getting things ready for online play. It's too bad KAOS didn't release the files. The "DedicatedServer.bat" file simply doesn't work well enough.

Oh well thanks for the reply

No worries. We like people to play on our server :D so don't worry about not contributing (though there is a Paypal button if you're really feeling super generous - haha). If we wanted it to be private there'd be a password on it.

Stop by anytime and keep watching [link] for status updates for the PC version of the game...I'm sure they'll post news there when they get the server admin and dedicated server files ready for download.

Sweet. I look forward to it. We have a sister clan called TN (tngamingclan.com) we're all anti-hackers and try to keep things as clean as possible as far as all that goes. Your server was rather clean, and I enjoyed that. Hard to find those.

[link] is our link. Swing by and say hello. We're getting more and more members involved in FFOW. Should turn out awesome should KAOS elect to continue with the patches.
